Maison Rouge is having a Last One Sale. I bought the second to last pair of these MM6 mules so you can shop the very last pair at 40% off. They’re actually very glass slipper so if they’re your size, congrats Cinderella. And you’re welcome. There are 16 more pages of goodies to peruse, including Sandy Liang, MM6, Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Priscavera, Simon Miller, Christopher Esber and St. Agni. Lot’s of wedding guest attire, too! In case you wanted me to hone it down for you, my top selects are here.

A Dream Skirt Success

In the last post I told you I had a skirt on the way which I hoped would be the perfect replacement for an old favorite I wore to shreds (and the one thing that got the most “who makes that skirt” in DMs. I had to bring the bad news that it was sold out. But good news, this one is even better. It has exceeded my expectations. It has pockets and can be worn high on the waist or low on the hips. And it’s a bargain at $145. Get it here at ALIGNE.

A Welcome Fail

I also told you about some Jil Sander nylon sandal booties I had ordered. I said I hoped I’d hate them and send them back because I had no business spending that kind of money. When I found out I’d have to go to the post office to pay $499 customs to retrieve them, a wise decision was made to refuse the parcel and have them sent back without ever even opening the box. But that was my bad for ordering from Canada-based SSENSE. There’s a little devil on one shoulder reminding me I won’t have to pay customs if I get them HERE. Oh no, now he’s telling me I need both colors!!!

Noto Botanics wants you to “practice safe sun” and has launched an SPF. It’s a 30, it works, makes you look dewy while also diffusing the appearance of pores, layers well under makeup and it smells like lemon meringue pie. You know I’m also a fan of Noto’s Deep Serum, Multi Bene Sticks and Duo Brush. Find it all here: NOTO BOTANICS.

I’m also so happy Labucq launched classic socks. I never know what socks to get when shopping online but I know everything Labucq makes is of the highest quality so I got the white, gray and black and they’re good. Nice thin silky rib with a nice scrunch and luster. I looked into why they’re so great and it’s because they’re mercerized cotton and Italian-made. Shop socks here: LABUCQ

Of the 30 or so drafts in my Substack Dashboard, one of them is about how much I miss and appreciate (and sense the return of) expertise which led to another draft advising young people to go deep and hard into a subject of interest (rather than go broad and wide, like me). So I am so thrilled Jessica Taft Langdon, an expert in all things footwear, has launched a Substack called Shoe Gaze all about the things we wear from the knee down. For her post she reviews “Less Ugly Water Sandals”. Not taking it as a personal attack on my FiveFingers - her wheels on this topic were in motion well before I purchased those (and hey they got me a shout out on Black Bird Spy Plane so….). Read Jessica’s rundown and get the water shoes that inspired new Miu Miu sandals here: SHOE GAZE

Perimenopausal Thots

Lastly, the Perimenopausal Thots section. Touching on a sensitive subject here, but sometimes one feels called to sacrifice a bit of dignity for the greater good.
